Andrew Burdett Design are experts in design for education. We have produced thousands of catalogues for school, nursery and early years suppliers and numerous other businesses in the education sector.
We recently complete two further catalogues and brochures for education / school suppliers (Edusentials and Drums for Schools) and it reminded me that we have a strong customer base in this area and are regularly called upon by them to design and print a myriad of projects marketing to the education sector.
Since we were establised in 1999 after years in the graphic design business, we have been designed and produced thousands of catalogues for school, nursery and education suppliers, both private and public sector. From large famous brands (such as Crayola and Sainsburys) to sole traders to small family businesses. Whether you require a small single colour catalogue or a full colour, perfect bound, 1000+ page book, we have the expertise, experience and knowledge to deliver on time and on budget.

Having worked for many years at advetising agencies and publishers, I became studio manager at the Nottingham Group, (at the time one of Britains biggest education suppliers with brands including Davies Sports, NES Arnold, Meccano, NRS). Back then the Nottingham Group turned over about £80 million and almost all this was by direct mail (all created within the company’s studio – which I ran). Part of my role their as design studio manager was the design, planning, photography, artwork, reprographics, production and print of the businesses numerous catalogues. My design team also worked on many other design projects from the production of packaging, brochures, advertising, exhibition stands, advertisement design, annual reports and numerous other marketing materials, which resulted in a yearly print spend in excess of £8 million.
The Nottingham Group’s catalogues were one of the most complex catalogue print and production jobs in Europe due to the numerous cover changes, plate changes, spot colours etc. This and the hundreds of education catalogues worked on since has resulted in Andrew Burdett Design having unprecedented expertise in the education catalogue design and school catalogue production.
In early 1999 the Nottingham Group and Phillip Harris (another education supplier) merged to form Novara and relocated their head offices to new purpose built offices next to Ashby de la Zouch. This gave me the perfect opportunity to take voluntary redundancy and set up my own design agency (a goal I have had since a teenager). For months after the move I was employed as a consultant (the first former employee to be given such a role) and worked on design and print projects for them for years after.

Ever since I have used my catalogue design expertise to helped numerous businesses and organisations produce catalogues for the education and schools markets. Pre-school early years, primary, secondary, SEN and further education. We have experience of working for all age groups in this market place.
Here are just a few of the education companies and organisations I have been lucky enough to work with: Alphabet Education, Birmingham City Council, Crayola, Classroom Direct, Davies Sports, Drums for Schools, Educational Technology, Edusentials, Graymarsh Firth, Innovative Education, Kit for Kids, Kent County Supplies, NES Arnold, Nottingham City Council (numerous departments including Childrens Services, Education and Leisure), Percussion Plus, Philip Harris, Red Bee Education, Restall, Sahara Presentation Systems, Sainsburys School Rewards, Sound Children, Write On Products, Youth Sport Trust to name but a few.
We are always discreet and have never had any issues working for competitiors within the sector. We’ll happily sign NDA’s should you so desire.
